CHICAGO — A group of armed men was robbing taxi drivers in the neighborhoods of Jefferson Park and North Park on the Northwest Side recently.
In just one week, three armed men hail taxi cabs from North and Northwest sides of the city. During the ride, they would pull out their handguns and proceed to demand money and belonging of the driver, according to the Chicago police.
These suspects took all of the driver’s belongings and ran out of the vehicle. According to the latest reports, these group also carjacked one taxi and drove away.
The first armed robbery occurred last morning of December 28 when these suspects called a cab in Mayfair. The next incident happened this January 4th, on the neighborhood of Hollywood Park. On the same day, a taxi driver picked them up in the West Rogers Park vicinity.
The suspects were described as two young men and the third one in early twenties, or probably in his late teens, reports said.
