Taxi driver stabbed multiple times by teenage gang

Bolton, UK — A teenage gang armed with “knives, axes and samurai swords” attacked a taxi driver in a robbery attempt, police reports.

The 40-year old driver allegedly was on his way to collect a group of people who had booked a taxi around 10pm.

When he arrived, Mr. Khan rolled the car windows down. However, he was met by a terrifying surprise.

A gang of around eight individuals – between ages 13 and 25 – appeared outside of his car window.

“I put the window down and someone held up a knife and pointed it at my face,” the father-of-three said. “He started asking me for money.”

Fearing for his life, Mr. Khan ran from his car to seek safety from the potential robbery.

He went towards a nightlife venue Top Club, adjacent to Manchester Road West, but the group followed him.

“I ran away, but they caught up and that is when I was stabbed,” he said. “A man started fighting me and put the knife in my face. My face has six or seven stitches in it now.”

Another taxi driver in the area came to help him after realizing Mr. Khan was in trouble.

“I saw they were holding knives axes samurai swords and sticks clearly in their hands,” the other driver said. “When people came out from Top Club they all ran away.”

The second driver also sustained a cut on the leg from one of the gang members.

Police are now investigating the incident.

“We attended an incident on Manchester Road West after we were called at 10.29pm,” a North West Ambulance Service spokesman said. “We sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the scene. It is now a police incident.”
