Swindon, England — A local taxi driver was recently assaulted by three passengers around 5:30am on June 15. According to police, he has suffered slash wounds injuries.
The taxi driver allegedly picked up a lady with two other guys from the Suji nightclub around 5:30am. He was going to drive them to the Park North area.
At some point during their journey, the three suspects started becoming abusive to the driver. And as they drove along the Dawlish road, the taxi driver finally decided to end the fare.
After the driver refuses to give them service, a heated argument pursued. Amidst their disagreement, one of the men stabbed the driver before all of them ran away from the scene.
Fortunately, the taxi driver received medical treatment in the Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Furthermore, he was able to go home the same day. He apparently had minor slash wound injuries.
“This was an unprovoked attack on someone who was simply doing his job,” DS Adrian Bray said. “Luckily, the injuries he sustained were not serious – it could have been very different due to the violent nature of the attack.
He furthered, “I would like to reassure our communities that we believe we know who the offenders are and our inquiries to locate them are continuing.”
Wiltshire Police are encouraging witnesses to come forward and help with the case.
