Chicago, USA — The Chicago Police Department is currently searching for the suspect who robbed a Chicago cabbie – and they are asking the public for help.
The incident took place around 11:20 p.m. last Monday in the South Side Bronzeville neighborhood. Reports say the suspect seized the 47-year-old cabbie while claiming he had a weapon. The suspect then proceeded to steal the driver’s personal property.
Authorities have recently released the suspect’s images but have yet to officially identify him.
There have also been reports of robbery among taxi drivers in the previous months. In fact, three armed robberies have taken place in Morgan Park in the month of May.
According to police, suspects would lure in unsuspecting drivers into isolated areas by ordering their services. As soon as the drivers arrive, the robbers would then flash their weapons and steal any valuables from the driver.
Chicago police are instructing food delivery drivers and taxi operators to remain vigilant of their surroundings.
