Lyft driver armed with gun attacks residents over a parking spot

Harrisonburg, VA — Around 12:30 a.m. earlier morning, officers from the Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) responded to the 1400 block of Devon Lane after reports of gunshots in the area.

When authorities arrived at the location, they determined there was an altercation between a Lyft driver and some residents over a parking spot.

According to reports, the driver allegedly pepper-sprayed a resident and a physical fight broke out. Furthermore, a witness to the incident came to intervene, which only triggered the driver to firing his pistol.

Investigators were able to recover the pistol and a shell casing on the scene.

Officers then put Lyft driver Ryan Liskey into police custody. The 31-year-old was charged with brandish a firearm, assault and battery, and recklessly handle a firearm.

Meanwhile, investigators believe that this is an isolated incident. and holds no potential risk to the public. The HPD encourages anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Major Crimes Unit by calling (540) 437-2650.

As of this moment, Lyft has not released any statement regarding the incident.
